Model Issues

This post is going to be on the longer side. The aim is to take a look at some available research to highlight the issues with most manual therapeutic models and suggest that we may want to make some professional Gestalt shifts (aka changes in perspective based on the same information).

Concept: Explicit Learning 2

Here we look at explicit learning through the example of shoulder abduction. When looking at the specific motion of shoulder abduction we are able to gain insight in to the process of explicitly learning how to create any movement for a patient in multiple positions/postures.

Concept: Explicit Learning 1

Here we take a look at hip internal rotation and the creation of that motion in multiple patient positions/postures. The process of hip internal rotation is used as an example of explicit learning while pointing to things that may help repeat the process of working with any other motion in multiple patient positions/postures.
