Mind Your Mouth and Know Your Role…

IMG_2420

At the point of writing the following text and recording the following video it will be stated that there is an observable rise in claims about the effects of osteopathic manual treatment on the immune system as motivated by the Covid-19 pandemic. I will cobble together some of the articles that I have seen shared and provide some commentary as to why they don’t say what we wish they did. Treatment Overview: Foot and Ankle

IMG_1711

In the video below we take a look at the foot and ankle. As usual, we utilize general concepts such as contact is control, relational motion, and broad contact for multi-point discrimination. With setting up general holds that allow for broad contact of the foot and ankle it is very easy to move from assessing and treating one area to another. It is the broad contact that allows one to simultaneously move and assess broad areas.

Lever, Wedge, and Screw…

IMG_1656

Within osteopathic manual therapy, there is discussion surrounding the concepts of lever, wedge, and screw based on their mention in the writing of A.T. Still. I have written about the concepts previously and now have chosen to use video to demonstrate the concepts in a broad fashion. Please enjoy.
